I’ve been interested in reading a copy of Exploring Visual Design that I found.  It’s the book we used in my Art II class in high school.  We had to create a visual binder based on the 7 elements of design.  We also discussed this in the 3D class I took a few years ago.

The next few posts are scheduled for November and will consist of different elements of design. Today we start with LINE. Line is everywhere. Types of lines: outline, contour, gesture (movement), blocking-in, sketching, calligraphy, & direction. Lines can also convey emotion.

I’ve been watching a lot of tattooing shows and line is a key for making a tattoo.  Either by outlining (normal) or by the coming together of two colors to imply a line.
